Overview
Join us for a truly restorative 4 day/3 night midweek yoga retreat at our incredible, magical forest camp in Somerset, near Bath. This will be our sixth retreat deep in the woods here, it's a really magical, peaceful and rustic place. Many of our previous guests said they wished this retreat was longer - so we've extended it to 3 nights! Accommodation is a range of hand-built wooden cabins, yurts, cob houses and a shepherds hut. All have log burners inside and individual fire pits outside. Walk through the woods to the botanical lake for a swim or a paddle board. Sunbathe on the decking surrounded by trees. Have a sauna looking out into the forest. Chat over tea and feasts in the camp kitchen. And then head back out into the rest of the world with a little more calm in your soul.

Campwell is a woodland camp around six miles north-east of Bath
Campwell is a woodland camp around six miles north-east of Bath on the Somerset/Wiltshire border, South-West England. It is hidden away down quiet lanes with wild hedgerows. The site is all about low-impact living, from the outdoor kitchen where you can cook over fire, to the eco-friendly toiletries in the compostable loos.
This wild place encourages you to go off-grid, turn off your phone and immerse yourself in nature. Enjoy walks around the woods with views across the green Somerset hills. Read and relax in a hammock. Wander down to the tucked away botanical wild swimming lake, surrounded by beautiful trees. It's a 20 minute walk through the woods and down a hill to the lake, or you can walk along the lane which is slightly quciker.
Trip Tips
Do
Settle in before starting the retreat with tea, cake and our opening circle. Day one (Tuesday) is all about grounding and resting, so we will do yin yoga before dinner, Nidra and a good, long rest. Wednesday will bring morning yoga and meditation, brunch, paddle boarding, SUP yoga and campfires. On Thursday there will be more yoga and meditation, walks and wild swims and a magical soundbath. Friday morning will be vinyasa yoga, meditation and breakfast, before our closing circle and departures. The yoga classes are themed around the natural elements, bringing nature into your practice. All activities are optional but encouraged, so you can nap, read or swim and explore - it’s completely up to you.
Stay
In a magical woodland village in Somerset. Some of the great things include: a sauna, a roundhouse for yoga with a logburner, a covered outside yoga platform, hammocks, showers with views across the woods, a secret lake for swimming and paddle boarding. Rooms will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. There are a range of yurts, wooden cabins, a shepherds hut and even a cob roundhouse, all with their own log burners and private fire pit areas outside. The yurts can be set up for triple occupancy for 3 friends (in a single and double bed). The treehouse cabins and shepherd's hut are double beds. The cob roundhouse can be a twin or a double. The others are a mix of twins and doubles.
Eat
All the food on the retreat is prepared by Beth the Free Range Chef, our chief Wild Times chef. It is all nutritious, wholesome and vegetarian. Snacks, drinks and meals are provided. There will be fruit and a hot drink station for you to help yourself to throughout, with herbal teas, coffee, fresh mint, lemon and ginger. We can cater for dietary requirements if you let us know beforehand - we will send you booking forms 8 weeks before to get your dietary requirements and more information.
FAQs
Who is it for?
The Wild Times retreats are for anyone who wants to re-wild and relax. We welcome everyone over 18 of any ability - just come with an open heart and mind. To get the most out of our yoga retreats, we recommend taking part in at least 3/4 yoga classes before joining.
Please note, some of the ground at Campwell is uneven and rocky and it is quite steep down the hill to the lake, so a reasonable level of mobility and fitness is required. If you're unsure if it's for you, drop us an email and we can always have a call.
Do I need paddleboarding/yoga experience?
Not at all! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just finding your sea/yogi legs you are very welcome. We just ask that you can swim 50 metres.
Do I need equipment?
For the watersports: Paddleboards, paddles and buoyancy aids are provided. Please bring your own wetsuit, watersports towel and water shoes.
For the yoga: Yoga mats, bolsters, blankets and blocks are provided. Please bring warm layers and maybe a large scarf for the yin yoga and yoga Nidra classes.
