Overview

We will be staying on 23 acres of beautiful, peaceful land in the hills of Northern Slovenia. The property is surrounded by mountains, fields and forests, giving you endless room to move, rest, and reset at your own pace. A natural swimming pool sits quietly in the meadow - an inviting place to cool off, read a book, or simply enjoy the calm. We retreated here in July 2026 and loved it so much we booked the same day for next year! Each day will begin with guided meditation and morning yoga, either in the indoor shala or on the decking outside by the pool, to help you ease into the rhythm of the retreat. Throughout the week there will be two day trips; to the capital city, Ljublana, and to the stunning Logar Valley, for a walk, lunch and an optional refreshing river dip. The Logar Valley (Logarska dolina) is one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial valleys in Europe. There will be time to use the large sauna by the pool, book massages with the in-site therapist, walk in the woods and read in the shade. There will also be free time to rest, journal, explore, or enjoy the space however you like - our motto is very much 'you do you'. One of the best things about The Wild Times retreats? We include lots of adventures and activities within the retreat, so you don't have to worry about adding lots of extras on... We really like to explore the countries we're in, working with local guides and businesses wherever possible. On this retreat we will be going to the capital city of Ljublana for a day trip to visit the castle and explore the cobbles streets, transfers included. We will also be heading to the spectacular glacial Logar Valley, to walk amongst the trees and the mountains, have lunch with a view and dip in the glacial river on the way home - lunch, walk and transfers included. To top it off, we'll experience an amazing soundbath with Tjasha, a wonderful local masseuse, yoga teacher and sound healer. This retreat is an opportunity to slow down, explore, be immersed in nature, and experience the benefits of stepping away from the noise of life and routine and into a calm and spacious place in your body, mind and soul. At The Wild Times, we believe in the power of spending time simply being in nature and remembering that we are nature.

Maya Howell

Maya Howell

Maya is a vinyasa, yin, restorative and nidra yoga teacher and lead host at The Wild Times. She has previously hosted many of our retreats in the UK, Sweden and Morocco, and teaches regular classes across East London.

On the mat, Maya invites you to move freely, explore with curiosity, and drop the idea of getting it “right.” She offers creative flows with options for all levels of yogi - an invitation to take what the body needs in the moment. Think movement that builds warmth and gives space for trying something new while staying soft, playful, and grounding - all set to the sound of soothing Scottish tones. Expect soft knees, self-enquiry, breathwork, stillness, play, meditation, wobbles, poetry, and great playlists.

When not on retreat, Maya is half Scottish selkie, half East London girl. If not found in the sea, you can usually find her warming up in a sauna somewhere or mooching around a market or gallery, getting inspired for future dreams of her own exhibit one day.

Her past life as an events manager means she has a natural knack of making everything feel effortless so you can sit back, switch off, and melt in.

Location: Slovenia

This part of northern Slovenia is a hidden natural haven - quiet, wild and deeply grounding, with sweeping hilltop views in every direction.

Set on 23 hectares high in the hills of northeastern Slovenia, our venue offers a tranquil escape immersed in forested hills, meadows, and organic farmland - far from the noise of everyday life. Located around 600 metres above sea level, the property gives you sweeping views over wooded valleys and open fields, inviting you to slow down, breathe and reconnect with the land.

At the heart of it is a purpose-built low-energy retreat centre (alongside a renovated farmhouse and eco-wooden residence), designed to feel warm and welcoming, yet in harmony with nature. Inside you’ll find a spacious yoga and meditation studio, flexible workshop and treatment rooms, and a large communal living and dining area - all with panoramic views of the surrounding hills.

Outside, you’ll have access to a natural swimming pond cut into the meadow - a peaceful place to cool off or enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by meadow and forest. Just beside it is a hand-built sauna, perfect for relaxing and resetting. Additional outdoor features include a yoga deck, fire pit (ideal for evening gatherings under the stars), a café under a linden tree, and meadows and woodland paths to wander freely.

This places encourages you to slow down in a grounded, natural setting; somewhere where nature, comfort, and conscious living exist together in balance.

Trip Tips

Do

Do

Arrive and settle in on Wednesday evening, where a sunset drink will be waiting for you. Minibus transfers to and from the airport are included if you’re arriving by 2pm on 22nd and departing after 1.30pm on 28th; otherwise, we can guide you on the best way to reach us (including the option to hire a car if you want to explore further). The beginning of our retreats are all about grounding and rest. After getting to know each other over a delicious dinner, we’ll ease into the week with a yoga nidra session (a.k.a. sleepy yoga) before drifting off to bed. Each morning we’ll practice vinyasa yoga, with yin and/or yoga nidra offered in the afternoons or evenings. Classes are themed around the natural elements, weaving the outdoors, and the qualities of the natural elements, into your practice. All activities are optional but encouraged - so whether you choose to nap, read, swim, or explore, the pace is yours to set. One day, we’ll venture to a Slovenian lakeside beach for a stand-up paddle boarding session with professional guides. During the retreat, we’ll head out on two guided hikes to explore the beautiful wild surroundings, supported by local knowledge of the land. Veduna also has an incredible sauna, and we’ll enjoy three group sessions there, with the chance to cool off in the natural pool. On our second-to-last night together, we’ll head out for dinner at a local restaurant. Between activities, there will be plenty of time to relax - sunbathe, wander the property, read, or take a dip in the natural pool. During our time in Slovenia, we’ll be embracing the surrounding nature and everything it can teach us. Each morning will include meditation, as well as guided journaling to spark creativity, along with opportunities throughout the week to write, draw, create, and play. There will also be a yoga workshop if you would like to learn more about the practice, and improve your own. If you have any questions about the retreat, you’re welcome to email us and set up a call with our founder, Jenny, before booking.

Stay

Stay

Nestled high above the valleys in the hills of northeastern Slovenia, our venue offers a tranquil sanctuary where nature and simple living meet. Situated at around 600 metres altitude and spread across 23 hectares of forest, meadows and organic farmland, the land unfolds gently - a spacious refuge immersed in forested hills, open fields and organic gardens. Our Slovenia venue blends rustic charm with thoughtful design: the retreat centre and accompanying buildings (once stables) have been transformed into welcoming spaces for rest, practice and connection. Inside you’ll find a bright yoga and meditation studio (with balcony and private bathroom), multipurpose workshop rooms, treatment and therapy spaces, and a large communal “Nest” area for dining, relaxing and sharing memories - all offering panoramic views over the surrounding hills. Outside, the landscape has been designed to support calm, reflection and simple enjoyment. A natural swimming pond, carved carefully into a meadow, invites you for a refreshing dip or a quiet moment by the water. Nearby stands a traditional hand-built sauna - perfect for warming up before plunging into the pool or for a restorative soak after practice. The land and lifestyle here reflect a deep commitment to sustainability and connection with Earth. On-site gardens and a greenhouse grow fruit, herbs and vegetables using permaculture and biodynamic principles; the produce - fresh, seasonal, and nourishing - is often used in meals served during retreats. Buildings are crafted with low-energy standards, wood-burning stoves and clay ovens, helping maintain a cosy, natural atmosphere through all seasons. Whether you arrive seeking peaceful restoration, creative inspiration, reconnection with nature, or a nurturing space to slow down - this beautiful place offers a warm, grounded and deeply natural environment where body, mind and spirit can unwind, breathe, and find balance.

Eat

Eat

Good food is at the heart of the experience - simple, nourishing, wholesome and full of life. Much of what you eat comes directly from the land: vegetables, herbs and fruit are grown on-site in the permaculture gardens, polytunnel, greenhouse, orchard and raised beds, or sourced locally from nearby farms and artisans. Menus change with the seasons, reflecting the freshest produce, herbs and ingredients available. Each day, you’ll enjoy two organic, vegetarian (with vegan-friendly options) meals - typically a generous brunch followed by a wholesome dinner, served with side dishes and seasonal salads, served buffet-style in the spacious communal dining area. You’ll also find herbal teas (including their own house-blended teas), coffee, and an array of snacks and fresh fruit available throughout the day - perfect for relaxing, refuelling, or lingering in between yoga, sauna or swimming by the natural pool. Whether you’re here to ground, restore or simply enjoy simple, nourishing food - the kitchen offers meals that are as wholesome and lovingly prepared as the land itself. We can cater for most dietary requirements if you let us know beforehand - please fill the form provided upon booking to let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Reviews

What an epic weekend - the perfect good for the soul retreat that gave me the calm, slowdown and adventure that I needed. What a magical weekend to restore, rest, be in nature - creating a community second to none! Can’t wait to book my next retreat with the Wild Times.

Erica

I had the most amazing time away with Jenny and the Wild Times team. The balance of 'wildness' and calm was totally perfect and every detail of the retreat was beautifully considered. The team created a space that felt completely safe and welcoming, allowing real rest, real connection, and real joy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Wild Times to friends and family - and I’ll definitely be returning for more myself!
