1) Why do you love being outside?

Everything feels better outside. Nature is going about it’s daily business

not giving two hoots about you and I find this comforting! It helps to put

things in perspective.

2) Favourite nature fact?

Mycelium! It seems to be a tangible way of comprehending that the way

humans perceive the world around them doesn’t even touch the sides.

3) Favourite wild place?

I’m not sure there is a place but there’s definitely a feeling I get when I’m on

a windy tump and it’s fresh and damp and my breath is taken away by the

magnitude of it all.

4) What would you like your legacy to be?

That judging other people is entirely pointless and that kindness can

actually make the world better. And turnips of course.

5) Describe your perfect day.

This changes quite a lot! I think a little coffee in bed followed by a short

cleaning session and a pottering walk with a good podcast. Time to garden

and chat to the worms. A good colouring in session with my little girl and

an afternoon pint with a chum and a newspaper. Making dinner for friends

and having a snuggle with my husband. Maybe a movie on the sofa.

6) What would be your one tip for someone who wants to reconnect to

nature/spend more time in the wild?

Begin your day by sticking your head out of your window or door and

taking a deep breath and saying hello to the world. End your day in the

same way. Remember the outdoors is accessible at all times of the day and

the year and you just need more or less clothes to make it pleasurable.

7) How do you ground yourself?

Breathing is good and I like touching trees and leaves and petals. Looking

up and tuning in to the birds.

8) Favourite campfire food?

I like burning vegetables over open flames then serving them with warm

bread and some sort of smooshy cheese affair.

9) One thing you’re grateful for today:

I’m grateful to be learning how to use my voice better.

10) What does ‘rewilding’ mean to you?

Getting comfy back in the caves and making things simple. Balancing a deeply

seeded insidious capitalist evil with the real ‘actual’ world around us.

Connection and communication.
